Such a beautiful sunny autumn day invited us to celebrate our fourth anniversary by revisiting our proposal day and site. Michael has proposed at Gem Lake, 1.5 miles past Snow Lake (Alpine Lakes Wilderness) in the gorgeous fall sunshine. Lake was very sweet wanting to come with us in our anniversary hike. Instead, Vivien whisked him out to the door to a play date at Piper’s and off we went.
This year a full snow had already arrived graciously turning the area into a winter wonderland.
We walked along Snow Lake to the outlet but determined hiking further up to Gem Lake would have to be for another year. Snow Lake in the snow:
We delighted in the fresh fallen snow, the crisp mountain air and our own strong and resilient relationship.
A perfect four years… I’m glad to have spent them married to you!
A Perfect Day . . . 
Snow Lake was my most common hiking destination when I lived several different areas around the Seattle area. The ocean at Westport was my most often start point for a beach walk. I also liked Pacific Beach, north of Westport on the one and only beach 2 lane highway. (Hope I got that right, I’m not looking at a hike map.) I also liked 3 or 4 hikes from trails near Hoodsport on Hood Canal.
I hope you are enjoying life with a 3.5 year lively boy. It can get tedious, and very repetitive. Probably not so bad as my last sentence puts it. A whole lot of fun and smiles are the payoff. Best of all to Tolle and Michael. Annie reminded me that you like Michael for your name. I’ll try to remember, but Mike is pretty firmly placed in my memory cells.
